Naples, the magnificent port city of Italy has many options to get around by boat, hydrofoil, etc. The city of Naples actually has 2 main ports (one of which is one of the largest ports in Italy behind Genoa and Livorno) and some smaller ones. Getting around Naples and vicinity by ferry or hydrofoil (quicker, more expensive) Ferry and hydrofoil services leave from either Molo Beverello, Mergellina, Pozzuoli or Calata Porta. There are also ports in Pozzuoli, Sorrento, Positano, Amalfi and Salerno, along with the islands like Capri. Of course, you can also hire a private boat, then your options are unlimited. Boats heading to the Island of Capri from Naples depart from Molo Beverello and Calata Porta di Massa. Naples to Capri Ferry: 80 minutes Hydrofoil: 40 minutes In Naples, the cruise ships dock at Stazione Marittima. It is a large terminal located right in the city center, near Piazza Municipio. Going to / from Naples by boat – other desinations There are several large ferry / passenger ships (Italian: navi) that connect Naples with Sardinia (Olbia), Corsica (Porto-Vecchio), Tunisia (Tunis), and the Aeolian Islands (Stromboli, Lipari).
