Feast Day of the Immaculate Conception, December 8, a national holiday in Italy.

There are celebrations all throughout the country of Italy.

Being that it is a religious holiday, churches will hold special masses. You'll find parades, feasts, and music and even bonfires in many places. Rome celebrates with floral wreaths and a ceremony at the Spanish Steps (Piazza di Spagna)

Government offices and banks are closed - many restaurants, stores, etc. will be open for holiday shopping.
