Birth of Rome celebrations

Every year, the city of Rome comes alive to celebrate a founder's day: April 21.

Where: Aventine Hill (Venue)

The main site is Aventine Hill, between the Capitoline Hill and Testaccio district. For fireworks, good viewpoints are Campidoglio (behind Capitoline Museum) and Giardino degli Aranci, near Aventine Hill.

There will be a series of events (usually starting around April 18th) at venues throughout Rome, including the Roman Forum and the Campidoglio including long-burning candles cover the Aventine Hill. There will also be fireworks display over the Tiber River, parades, gladiator shows, traditional banquets etc.
