Sherbeth Festival - The International Festival of Ice Cream - Il Festival Internazionale del Gelato

A celebration of Italian "sorbetto", a delicious gelato style treat based on the Arab practice of shaved ice and fruit juice ("granita") which has origins back to the 9th century.

From September 15th through the 18th (2011), you'll be able to taste the works of 30 artisan ice cream makers as the quaint village of Cefalu' turns into an ice cream village.  These ice cream makers will come from all over the world to show off their craft.  Cefalu', one of the best beaches in Italy, is a perfect place to hold this festival, with its splendid Sicilian history, crystal clear waters, and overall charm.
