Conference on Italian Cinema and the 150th Anniversary of the Unification of Italy

A two-day event celebrating cinema and 150 years of Italian unification. Monday's event welcomes director Roberto Vargiu for a screening of " The greatest Italian artists at the University of Salerno". Marco Pistoia, a film history professor at the Univesity of Salerno, will be speaking on "Visconti, Painting , Theatre, Music and the Representation of History: Senso and The Guepard". This will be followed by a meeting with Fabrizio Gifuni pertaining to "An actor and the Italian History" moderated by Marco Pistoia and Dario Minutolo. To close out Monday's event,there will be a piano concert by Daniele Furlati.
On Tuesday, speakers Vincenzo Esposito, Alex Marlow Mann and Dario Minutolo will discuss "South Down, The Cinema of Francesco Rosi". The event ends with a tribute to Massimo Troisi: "Ricomincio da Tre" after 30 years.
