Tindari, a town on the beautiful northern coast of Sicily is on the northeast quadrant of the island, about an hour west of Messina.

Every year, on September 7th and 8th, they celebrate the Festa della Madonna Nera, or Feast of the Black Madonna. 

There is a religious procession at night with a mass and fireworks celebration.
