Street Sign in Italy - end of the Highway
If you plan on driving in Italy, you should try to become accustomed to as many of the street signs as possible. Many of them are universal, but there are some that are peculiar.
In Italy you will often come across road signs like this one to the right with a slash through the picture (or sometimes the name of a city).
This is to indicate that you are leaving the highway, or approaching the end of the highway.
In the case of a city, you might see a slash through "Rome", which would indicate that you are leaving the city of Rome.
